His Highness was appointed by the Amiri order as the Prime Minister for the State of Kuwait in April 15th<\/sup> 2024.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

His Highness was also appointed by the Amiri order in April 21st<\/sup> 2024 to act as the Deputy Amir while the Amir is abroad.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

His Highness Sheikh Ahmed Abdullah Al-Ahmed Al-Jaber Al-Sabah was appointed as Chief of the Diwan of H.H. the Crown Prince with the rank of Minister on 20 September 2021 According to Decree No. (184) of 2021.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Upbringing and Education<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

He was born in Kuwait in 1952 and received his early education at Al Sharqyia School. He continued his education at the National Evangelical School in Lebanon, graduating in 1972 and then joining the University of Illinois in the United States of America, from which he obtained a bachelor’s degree in Finance (Banking and investments) in 1976. He is fluent in Arabic and English.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

About His\u00a0<\/strong>Highness<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

His Highness Sheikh Ahmed Abdullah Al-Ahmed Al-Jaber Al-Sabah has extensive experience in financial and banking affairs as a long journey in the official work as a government member and took his responsibilities as a minister in many governments.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

His Highness Sheikh Ahmed Abdullah Al-Ahmed Al-Jaber Al-Sabah is a strong advocate for the utilization of the technological in advancement supporting the role of digital transformation in diversifying the economy and streamlining procedures to enhance the welfare of Kuwaiti citizens.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ministerial positions<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

His Highness Sheikh Ahmed Abdullah Al-Ahmed Al-Jaber Al-Sabah had held ministerial portfolios from 1999 to 2011:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

*On 29 May 2009, he was appointed Minister of Oil and Minister of Information, a position he held until 8 May 2011.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

*On 9 February 2009, he was appointed Minister of Oil.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

*On 10 July 2006, he was reappointed Minister of Health.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

*On 9 February 2006, he was appointed Minister of Health.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

*On 15 June 2005, he was appointed Minister of Transport and Minister of Health.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

*On July 14, 2003, he was appointed Minister of Transportation, Planning, and State for Administrative Development.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

*On February 14, 2001, he was appointed Minister of Transportation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

*On July 13, 1999, he was appointed Minister of Finance and Minister of Transportation, his first ministerial position.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Banking Sector<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

His Highness Sheikh Ahmed Abdullah Al-Ahmed Al-Sabah worked in the banking sector, starting as a financial analyst at the Central Bank of Kuwait in April 1977, until he assumed the position of Director of the Banking Supervision Department at the Bank (from May 1985 to May 1987).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

His Highness Sheikh Ahmed Abdullah Al-Ahmed Al-Sabah was Chairman and Managing Director of Burgan Bank from May 1987 to November 1997 and Vice Chairman and Managing Director of Al Ahli Bank of Kuwait (November 1997 to July 1999).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
