Under the patronage and presence of His Highness Sheikh Ahmed Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, Prime Minister, the Public Sports Authority, in cooperation with the Kuwait Olympic Committee, today held a ceremony honoring distinguished players for the year 2023.
In his speech during the ceremony, His Highness the Prime Minister conveyed the greetings and congratulations of His Highness, the Emir of the country, Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, may God protect and preserve him, and His Highness the Crown Prince, Sheikh Mishaal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, may God protect him, to their athletes for their honorable achievements in various sports forums.
His Highness said that most of the honored sports federations and clubs today have reached advanced stages in the tournaments in which they participated, expressing his aspiration that the State of Kuwait become a strong competitor in regional and international tournaments.
His Highness the Prime Minister added, addressing his sons, the athletes, “We must not look back, as Kuwait will not benefit from this. Let us work to renounce differences and put our hands in each other’s hands to consider a better future for Kuwaiti sports.”
His Highness mentioned that those in charge of the Public Sports Authority are among the best young people and are currently working on developing strategic plans for the future, calling on everyone to cooperate with them to advance Kuwaiti sport so that it can return as we used to in the past.
His Highness the Prime Minister expressed his pride in the achievements that Kuwait has achieved with the help of its athletes and the high levels they presented that culminated in obtaining the highest ranks, calling on them to achieve more achievements and raise the flag of Kuwait high in the upcoming sports events.
His Excellency the Minister of Information and Minister of State for Youth Affairs, Abdul Rahman Badah Al-Mutairi, delivered a speech in which he affirmed that the celebration of this distinguished group of athletes comes as an appreciation and culmination of their achievements, indicating that the patronage of His Highness the Prime Minister represents a motive for the honorees to achieve more achievements for the advancement of Kuwait in all international forums.
His Highness the Prime Minister honored the distinguished male and female athletes for the year 2023 from various Kuwaiti bodies, committees, federations and sports clubs.
The ceremony was attended by His Excellency the Director of the Public Sports Authority, Youssef Abdullah Al-Baidan, His Excellency the President of the Kuwaiti Olympic Committee, Sheikh Fahad Nasser Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, and senior state officials and the Prime Minister’s Court.
